Hi, I’m Liz Bancroft—Clinical and Counselling Psychologist, trauma therapist, and proud late-diagnosed neurodivergent human. If you’re here looking for a therapist who will just nod and say “How does that make you feel?” for 50 minutes… we might not be the best fit. I’m here to cut through the fluff, get to the heart of what’s going on, and help you make meaningful changes that stick (so much so that I work myself out of a job!)
I founded Bancroft Psychology in 2023 because I wanted to offer a space where clients feel truly seen and supported—not just handed a list of coping strategies and sent on their way. My approach is collaborative, direct (with a good dose of empathy), and tailored to you. I believe therapy should be a balance of insightful reflection and practical, actionable steps. After all, we’re here to make progress, not just chat.
I know firsthand that navigating mental health challenges can be overwhelming. As someone who received a late diagnosis of neurodivergence, I’ve been on my own journey of self-discovery and unlearning. This personal experience deepened my commitment to creating a space where clients can embrace their authentic selves—quirks, complexities, and all.
In my work, I draw on evidence-based therapies like EMDR, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Resource Therapy to address the root causes of mental health issues. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, or just feeling a bit lost, I’ll meet you where you are and help you navigate your way forward.
What You Can Expect
A warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where you can be yourself
A therapist who genuinely listens and offers real feedback
Practical strategies to help you cope and thrive
A sense of humour to make the tough moments a bit easier
I won’t pretend this process is all rainbows and breakthroughs. Therapy is hard work. But even in the toughest moments, I’ll hold the hope for you—because I believe in your ability to heal and grow.
